2009 Parade coming down Via Mt. Carmel St. proved to be a good idea as many parishioners watched with pride.
The procession with the Madonna was like the street festivals of past years.

The area’s 3 Italian Festivals were given free booth space to help promote their events and the Italian Culture as well

Eye in the Sky view of the 2008 Mt. Carmel 10th Annual Festival
Created by Poland Artist Carlo Rubino is this 8 foot high Roman Gladiator. The figure welcomed visitors to the 11th annual Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Festival. Rubino is a retired art teacher who taught at Boardman High School for 40 years. Carlo, was born in from Pacentro, Italy came to America November 6, 1954.
The OLMC Gladiator was a big hit as many of the visitors both adults & children stopped to have their picture taken with the colorful figure.
NAMING CONTEST
A contest will be held to name the gladiator is in the planning stages.
John Iandimarino ran out of his famous fried baloney sandwichs. A poor man’s steak, baloney sandwiches were a regular treat in most Brier Hill homes in the 50’s.
Even a parrot knows a good festival when he sees one.
Finding a seat under the big top was tough, as all four days the crowds enjoyed all the great entertainment
